Barbara Vereb, 85, of Duquesne peacefully passed into eternal rest on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh. Born on June 14, 1938 in Duquesne, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Mary (Pastor) Vereb. Barbara was a member of the former Holy Name Church of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. Barbara worked until retirement as an executive secretary for Mellon Bank, but her true passion was in musical theatre and the arts. Barbara was a former Coloratura Soprano Opera singer who assisted with many musical productions, including working with Fred Rogers and Barry Manilow. She was also an actress at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, and an accomplished oil painter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Arleen M. Bottesch. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Jamie Stemler (Charlie), Robyn Deguffroy (Pamela), James J. Bottesch (Leslie), Kasi Bleakney (Stefan), Austin, Morgan, Ethan, Riley, and Naia.
Friends and family will be received in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home Inc., 828 Richford Street, Duquesne, on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 2 P.M. until a blessing service at 4:30 P.M. with Deacon Ron Demblowski officiating.
