Charles P. "Chick" Sloss, 89, of West Mifflin, died peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2018 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born in Duquesne, May 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Edward and Violet (Morgan) Sloss. Mr. Sloss was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne, a retired employee of the Fisher Body Plant of General Motors and the Union Rail Road Company. Mr. Sloss was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Bickus Sloss, four daughters, Cheryl (Larry) Stefan, Beverly (John) Seba, Karen Boytos and Nita (Richard) Ignat, all of West Mifflin; a brother, Thomas Sloss, fifteen grand children and twenty-four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles J. Sloss, two grandsons, Brandon C. Stefan and Victor C. "Charlie" Boytos, and five brothers, Russell, Edward, Robert, John and Ronald Sloss.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., Richford and Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne. A Blessing in the Memorial Home on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 10 A.M. with Rev. Thomas Lewandowski officiating, will be followed by burial with military honors in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Mifflin. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for contributions be made to the V.A. Pittsburgh Health Care System, 1010 Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA. 15215.
