Anna J. (Kovac) Novak, 77, of Duquesne, died suddenly Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, in UPMC McKeesport. Born Dec. 16, 1934, in Duquesne, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Ann Hatala Kovac. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, and the Parish Rosary Society. Mrs. Novak was the loving wife of Elmer Novak; and the beloved mother of Tim (Linda) Novak, of Fayetteville, N.C., Paul (Mary Beth) Novak, of Whitehall, and Shirley Novak, of Duquesne. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Cyril (Mary) Novak, of Rhode Island; sister-in-law, MaryAnn (Joe), of Maryland; six grandchildren, Ian, Jordan, Patricia, Amanda, Tyler and Zachary,; and one great-granddaughter, Natayla. She was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Steven Novak; and two brothers, Donald and Michael Kovac.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the WILLIAM S. SKOVRANKO MEMORIAL HOME, Richford and Commonwealth avenues, Duquesne. A blessing in the memorial home will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday, followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Duquesne, with the Rev. David Bosnich as celebrant. Burial will follow in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, West Mifflin.
