Barbara Elizabeth (Lesko) Vamos

Barbara "Barb, Betty, Mom, Nana" Elizabeth Lesko Vamos, 77, of Duquesne, PA passed away peacefully at her home in Duquesne, PA on Saturday, February 8th, 2014.  Barbara was born on February 24, 1936 in Monessen, PA to the late George and Barbara Lesko. Barbara spent her early years in Monessen, PA; the family eventually moved to Duquesne, PA where she graduated with the class of 1954 from Duquesne High School.  Following graduation she worked for Irwin Works for over 12 years.  She married Andrew George Vamos in September 1959 beginning a partnership that would last for over 54 years. Barbara was a life-long member of Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church of Duquesne, PA. Barbara will always be remembered as a wonderful spirit, with a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others.  
Besides her husband Andrew she leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her; loving daughter Barbara Elaine Vamos McDonnell of Duquesne, PA.; brother Thomas Alexander Lesko and his wife Elizabeth of Kinsman, OH; sister-in-law Naomi S. Lesko of Hampton, VA; two grandchildren Cassandra and Krystian McDonnell, and her lovely great-grand daughter Arya; and many adorning nieces and nephews: Bobbie Russen Wonders; James Russen; Julie Russen Rocco; Charles Lesko, Jr.; Gregory Lesko; Roxanne Lesko Clark; and George Lesko. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Virginia Lesko Russen in 2008; George Edward Lesko in 1946; and Charles John Lesko in 1996.
Friends and relatives will be received in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Richford & Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. and 6:00-8:00 pm. Blessing Services  on Thursday at 10:30 am in the Memorial Home will be followed by a Funeral Liturgy in S.S. Peter and Paul Church at 11:00 am with Rev. John Cuccaro as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Panachida Services on Wednesday at 6:30 P.M. in the Memorial Home.
