Eleanor Stavar Obituary

Eleanor M. Stavar, of Duquesne, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at UPMC McKeesport. Born in Duquesne, March 26, She was the daughter of the late Stefan and Anna (Marflak) Stavar. Eleanor was a member of Holy Trinity Church of St Thomas the Apostle Parish, West Mifflin, the Jednota Lodge, Slovak Catholic Sokol, and a retired executive secretary of the former Duquesne works, US Steel Corporation. She is survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Diana and John Ruscin and her feline companions, Cody and Angel. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Stephan R. Stavar and two sisters, Marie Edberg and Anne Shimkus.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 3-8 PM in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., 828 Richford Street, Duquesne. A blessing in the Memorial Home on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 11:30 AM will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Anthony Gargotta as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin.
