George C. Mihailoff, 87, of Elizabeth, formerly of Munhall, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Born in Homestead on May 24, 1933, he was the son of the late Christ and Margaret (Kostelnik) Mihailoff. Mr. Mihailoff was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Parish, Holy Trinity Church, West Mifflin. Mr. Mihailoff was a very active parishioner and past president of the Men's Club of the former St. Michael's R.C. Church, Munhall. He was a retired Letter Carrier for the U. S. Postal Service, Homestead, and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine Perhac Mihailoff, He is survived by a daughter Lisa A. (Joseph) Gaydos Jr., a son, Christopher G. Mihailoff, a sister, Margaret (Late Theodore) Stanoszek, two grandchildren, Lauren Gaydos and Joseph Gaydos III, two brothers-in-law, Eugene (Late Lucille) Perhac and Carl (Linda) Perhac, and several Nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents Mr. Mihailoff was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas (Late Jeanne) Mihailoff Sr. and a sister, Helen (Late Gary) Volk.
Due to the COID-19 pandemic, private services are being held in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home Inc., 828 Richford Street, Duquesne, PA., followed by Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church, West Mifflin, with Rev. Daniel Sweeney as celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin.
