Harold David Sandrue (age 78), of Long Valley, NJ and more recently Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on May 30, 2022. He was born on February 13, 1944 to Evelyn Dooling and Harold Sandrue and grew up in Whippany and East Hanover, NJ. He played sports at and graduated from Hanover Park High School, earned his bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and worked in advertising at Ciba-Geigy for over 30 years. Harold is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia; four children, Darrell (Erica), Kari, Rebecca (Brian), and Courtney (Thomas); brother Kevin (Carol); four grandchildren, Ethan, Claire, Michael, and Alexis; and four nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Richard. Harold enjoyed fishing, vacationing in Vermont, and watching the Yankees and Giants. To say he was an extremely devoted father and husband is an understatement. Harold could always be counted on for a quippy one-liner or a perfectly timed supportive remark. He was exceptionally proud of his family and a genuinely kind person. His spirit will live on through those he loved.
Harold weathered Parkinson’s disease with grace, dignity, and humor. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Parkinson’s Foundation (www.parkinson.org/ways-to-give) on his behalf. Arrangements entrusted to the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home Inc., 828 Richford Street, Duquesne, PA.
