Helen R. (Banyasz) Ando, 96, of West Mifflin formerly of Duquesne, died peacefully Sunday February 22, 2015 in South Western Assisted Living Center, West Mifflin. Born June 11, 1918 in Trauger, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Mraz) Banyasz. She was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne. She was the beloved wife of the late William Ando, loving mother of William (Barbara) Ando, Robert ((Micheleen) Ando, and Richard (Jackie) Ando; grandmother of John Ando, Kristine Allen, Robert Ando Jr., Amy Ando, Michael Ando, and Donald Fox; great-grandmother of Joshua, Nathan & Jeremy Fox, Madison & Mackenzie Allen, and Olivia & Brett Ando; and great great-grandmother of Nicholas and Lucas Fox. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by two brothers, William & Elmer Banyasz.
Family and friends will be received in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Richford Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne, on Tuesday February 24, 2015 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. A Blessing Service on Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. in the Memorial Home will be followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Holy Name Church, Duquesne, with Rev. Thomas Lewandowski as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin. Mrs. Ando’s sons would like to thank the staff at Southwestern, Especially Kathy Dainty, Activities Director and Three Rivers Hospice for the compassionate care their mother received while there.
