James E. "Jim" McDermitt, 74, of Duquesne, died peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021, in UPMC McKeesport. Born in Duquesne, January 21, 1947, he was the son of the late William Earl and Agnes (Kamacher) McDermitt. Mr. McDermitt was a self employed handi-man. Beloved husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Yarnall) McDermitt, he is survived by a son, Stephen McDermitt, two daughters, Dana (Bill) Ferrier and Erin Jenkins, three grandchildren, Scott Jenkins Jr., Hannah Jenkins and A.J. Ferrier, and a sister, Nancy Kuchma. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Bedzik and Diane Yurchinson and a grandson, Luke Jenkins.
Family and friends will be received in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, 828 Richford Street, Duquesne on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 4 P.M. until a blessing service at 7:30 P.M. with Seminarian Daniel D'Antonio as celebrant. Private burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Mifflin.
