James E. “Jay” Meininger

James E. “Jay” Meininger, 83, of Elizabeth, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, in UPMC McKeesport. Born Feb. 2, 1928, in Braddock, he was the son of the late Kenneth L. and Margaret (Flynn) Meininger. He was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Elizabeth, the 11th Ward Club of McKeesport, the White Oak American Legion and proudly served his Country in the Navy and Marine Corps during World War II. Mr. Meininger was a retired employee of Turner’s Dairy and the former Menzie Dairy Co. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene (Bereznak) Meininger; two brothers-in-law, John Dojcak and Steve (Mary) Bereznak; two nieces, Stephanie Dojcak and Peggy Bennett; four nephews, Greg (Danielle) Dojcak, Steven Bereznak, Todd and Jack Lacock; two great-nieces, Rosemarie and Angela Dojcak; and a great-nephew, James Bennett.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the WILLIAM S. SKOVRANKO MEMORIAL HOME, Richford and Commonwealth avenues, Duquesne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Michael’s Church, Elizabeth, with the Rev. Thomas Wagner as celebrant. Everyone please meet at church. Burial with military honors will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, West Mifflin.
