John Bereznak Jr.

John Bereznak Jr.,93, of West Mifflin, peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday October 16, 2014. Born August 27, 1921 he was the son of the late John and Anna Mikita Bereznak. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Potoma Bereznak , two sons, John J. (Deborah) Bereznak of Millersville, MD. and Thomas (late Andrea) Bereznak of Jefferson Hills, four loving grandchildren, Justin, Aaron, Jaclyn and Ryan, two sisters Mary Mayher of West Mifflin and Ann Bereznak of Duquesne, a brother, Michael Bereznak of West Mifflin, and nieces and nephews. John was a retired manager from U.S. Steel, Duquesne Works,  attended Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh, and was a devoted member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Church, Duquesne. John was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran serving at Argentia Naval Base in Newfoundland. John was an avid sports enthusiast and golfer and was a member of the former Duquesne Golf Club. He enjoyed devoting his life to his family, took one day at a time, and always saw his glass as “half full”.
Family and friends received from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. on Monday October 20th in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Richford & Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne. A blessing in the Memorial Home on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. will be followed by liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in SS. Peter & Paul Church with Rev. John Cuccaro as celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery West Mifflin.
