John R. “Pinky” Pinkovsky, 82, of West Mifflin fell asleep in the Lord, Saturday, January 19, 2013. Born, February 17, 1930 in Duquesne, he was the son of the late John and Ann (Chir) Pinkovsky. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, a retired U.S.Steel Duquesne Works, Plant Protection employee and a U.S. Army veteran. Beloved husband of Victoria (Burello) Pinkovsky he is also survived by two sons; Anthony (Betty) Pinkovsky of Beaver Creek, Ohio and John (Romy) Pinkovsky of Pittsburgh, a daughter; Theresa (Jim) Popa of West Mifflin, a sister; Dolores (Donald) Scholik of West Mifflin, and six grandchildren; Jim, Abbey, and Joe Popa, and A.J., Victoria and Andrew Pinkovsky. He was preceded in death by two sister; Ann and Mary Pinkovsky.
    Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Richford and Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne, PA. A blessing in the Memorial Home on Monday January 21st at 9:15am will be followed by liturgy of Christian burial at 10am in SS Peter and Paul Church with Rev John Cucarro as celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, West Mifflin, PA. Parastas service will be offered at 2:30pm Sunday in the Memorial Home.
