Joseph Leonard Cherpak, 92, of North Huntingdon, died peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2019 in Riverside Nursing Center, McKeesport. Born in Duquesne, October 7, 1927, he was the son of the Late John and Catherine (Cipkala) Cherpak. Mr. Cherpak was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, a retired Bar Mill Hooker at the Former U.S. Steel Corporation, Duquesne Works, and a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean Conflict. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in Death by five brothers and a sister, infant Andrew Yarosik, George Yarosik, John Yarosik, John Cherpak, Michael Cherpak, and Katherine Yarosik Klasnick. Mr. Cherpak was an avid reader and loved watching "Jeopardy", "Wheel of Fortune", and sports, especially golf, football, baseball, and hockey.
Per Mr. Cherpak's wishes there will be no visitation and all services are private. All arrangements have been entrusted to the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., Duquesne.
