Joseph “Al” Struiff Jr., 78, of West Mifflin, died peacefully Sunday, August 12, 2012 in Sycamore Estates, Duquesne. Born January 30, 1934, in Braddock, he was the son of the late Joseph Alvin and Margaret Bonney Struiff, Sr. A retired engineer from the Union Railroad, Mr. Struiff was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, West Mifflin, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Beloved husband of Loretta Unites Struiff, he is also survived by his loving daughter, Leslie (Terry) Faux of Munhall, a sister, Joan (Raymond) Damico of Apollo, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step daughter, Lynn Koza and a granddaughter, Amanda Faux.
Friends will be received from 1-4pm and 6-9pm on Wednesday in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, corner of Richford and Commonwealth Avenue, Duquesne. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 16, at 11am in the Memorial Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Moriarity officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
