Margaret B. (Belancik) Shimko

Margaret B. (Belancik) Shimko, 86, formerly of Duquesne, died peacefully Friday Sept. 28, 2012 in  LGAR Health and Rehabilitation Center, Turtle Creek. Born February 17, 1926 in Duquesne she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Sabol Belancik, and the beloved wife of the late Michael Shimko. She was a member of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, West Mifflin, Confraternity of Christian Mothers, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the West Mifflin Annex Senior Citizens. She is survived by three loving daughters; Kathleen (Robert) Totef of Natrona Heights, Patrice (Richard) Michaels of Elizabeth, and Michele (Andrew) Geffert of West Mifflin, one brother; George “Judy” (Marie) Belancik of West Mifflin, six grandchildren; Ryan & Becky Alexa, Anthony Michaels, Thomas & Christy Michaels, Michael Douglass, Kristen and Courtney Geffert, and a great grandson; Emmet Chesleigh. She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Belancik and a sister, Helen “Hudga” Belancik.
Friends and family will be received from 5-9 P.M. Sunday and 2-9 P.M. on Monday in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Richford & Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne. A Blessing on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. in the Memorial Home will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Joseph Grosko as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin.
Mrs. Shimko’s family would like to thank the staff of Senior Care Plaza, McKeesport, LGAR Health and Rehabilitation, Turtle Creek and Family Care Hospice for their compassionate care and kindness.
