Maria (Ference) Alzo, 90, of North Huntingdon formerly of Duquesne, died peacefully Friday September 28, 2012 at home. Born September 5, 1922 in Tovarne, Slovakia she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Gambal Ference and the beloved wife of the late George Alzo. Mrs. Alzo was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne and Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, West Mifflin, Holy Trinity’s Jednota and Sokal and SS. Peter and Paul’s Rosary Society. Mrs. Alzo is survived by three loving children; Helen (James) Dishong of North Huntingdon (with whom she resided), Mary Grove of Duquesne, and Michael (Nancy) Alzo of Canton, New York, six grandchildren; Derek (Melinda), Tom, Erik (Heather), Wendy (Mike), Melissa (Oryan), and Robert, and seven great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Sunday in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Richford & Commonwealth Ave. Duquesne. A Blessing in the Memorial Home on Monday October 1, 2012 at 10:45 A.M. will be followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. in SS. Peter & Paul Church, Duquesne, with Rev. David Bosnich as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin. Parastas Services on Sunday at 3:30 P.M. in Memorial Home.
