Marie (Cook) Belancik

Marie “Cookie” (Cook) Belancik, 85, of West Homestead, formerly of Duquesne, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 27, 2013. Born June 17, 1928 in Mifflin Twp. she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Grosik Kukuchka (Cook). Mrs. Belancik was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, West Mifflin, Past President of the parish Confraternity of Christian Mothers and a retired regional sales manager for Stanley Home products, she was also a former employee of Sears Roebuck Co., Fashion Bug of Duquesne and New Heritage of Homestead. Beloved wife of the late Al Belancik, she is survived by her loving children; Alan (Lynne Lorrey) Belancik, Gary (Denise) Belancik and Denise Belancik (Joseph) Rounds, a sister; Virginia “Jean” Evans, four grandchildren; Grant (Jessica) Belancik, Bethany Rounds (Ken) Johnson, Grace Belancik, and Christine Rounds and one great granddaughter; Gianna Noelle Belancik. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Gornick and Josephine Miller a brother, Albert Cook and a grandson, Craig Belancik.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Richford & Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne. A Blessing in the Memorial Home on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at 9:30 A.M. will be followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Joseph Grosko as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin.
