Guz was a lifelong member of the Make A Wish foundation. As a Make A Wish kid himself, Guz was able to experience once in a lifetime opportunities and wanted other terminally ill children to be able to live their dreams also. Guz spent every Christmas at the Make A Wish telethon speaking to the public about the importance of helping these children and raising money so that their dreams can come true.
Guz was a graduate of Shaler Area class of 1994. For some time in high school, Guz was the team mascot, the Titan. He loved sports and was very dedicated to his favorite teams. Guz had a true passion for his home town teams and spent countless time at Three Rivers Stadium, Heinz Field, Civic Arena, Consol Energy Center and PNC Park. He always stayed true to his Steelers, Pirates and Penguins and became a true celebrity to the city of Pittsburgh. Those who knew him knew his love for Penn State football and it did not take long for Guz to become a celebrity on their campus also.
Throughout Guz’s adult life, he worked for Flipside DJ’s. Other than being a team mascot, what a perfect job for Guz. He loved to Dj whether it was weddings, grad parties or school dances. Guz always had a way about him that was so true, so caring and so loving that he touched the lives of countless number of people and will be greatly missed but he will never be forgotten.
