Michael J. Uhren

On Friday May 31st at 12:45PM, Michael J. Uhren of West Mifflin passed away into the arms of the Lord our God. Mike was born October 18, 1926 in Duquesne, PA to George and Elisabeth Uhren. Mike served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. When he came home he was a mill worker, house builder and butcher before becoming a mailman, which he did for over 40 years. More importantly, when he came home, he went to Kennywood one day and freeloaded some French Fries from a gorgeous woman from Homestead named Helen Bakota. They would spend the next 70 years virtually inseparable. Mike is survived by his wife Helen (Bakota) of West Mifflin, son Greg Uhrlen (Kara) of South Fayette and granddaughters Kayla and Juliana Uhrlen of South Fayette. Mike was fearless and absolutely adored his granddaughters Kayla and Juliana. They were his pride and joy!

His funeral  Services will be Friday, June 7, 2019 at 11:30AM in Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Duquesne, PA with a private burial service at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
