Raymond M. Balombiny, 89, of West Mifflin fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday June 21, 2012 in Cedars of Monroeville. Born in Duquesne, Sept. 5, 1922, he was the son of the late George and Mary Hyduk Balombiny. Beloved husband of Mary Pazej Balombiny, he is also survived by a brother; Francis Balombiny of North Versailles, a sister; Geraldine Selznick of Duquesne and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother; Edward Balombiny and a sister; Irene Bartos. Mr. Balombiny was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, Knights of Columbus 4210, and the White Oak American Legion, Post 701. He was a retired Machinist from U. S. Steel, Duquesne Works and proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII.
Friends will be received on Sunday June 24, 2012 from 1-5 P.M. in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Richford and Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne. A Blessing in the Memorial Home on Monday at 9:15 A.M. will be followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in SS. Peter and Paul Church with Rev. David Bosnich as Celebrant. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Lebannon Church Cemetery, West Mifflin.
