Valerie K (Wirginis) Balavage

Valerie K. (Wirginis) Balavage, 65, of McKeesport, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born in McKeesport, Jan. 23, 1950, she was the daughter of Helen (Glovis) Uchnar, of McKeesport, and the late Peter P. V. Wirginis. Valerie was a former statistician. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Sharon Balavage, of Florida; and two sisters, Deborah Wetzler and Beverly Carol Yarsky, both of Munhall. Per Valerie's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be offered at 9 a.m. Monday, July 20, in St. Hedwig Church, Duquesne, with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski as celebrant. Donations can be made in her name to Western PA Humane Society on Western Avenue. Arrangements entrusted to the WILLIAM S. SKOVRANKO MEMORIAL HOME, Richford and Commonwealth Avenues, Duquesne.
