William S. Bodnar,92, formerly of North Huntingdon and Scott Twp., died peacefully Sunday, February 8, 2015. Born January 15, 1923 in Duquesne, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Suhoza) Bodnar. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, a retired employee of U. S. Steel Duquesne Works and proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Beloved husband of the late Pauline (Groach) Bodnar, and the loving father of William M. (Janet) Bodnar of Mt. Lebanon, and Renee (William) Hernandez of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He is also survived by a brother, John Bodnar of Pittsburgh, four grandchildren; Anna and Laura Bodnar and Dante and Madison Hernandez, and a nephew; James (Connie) Drotar of Baltimore MD. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Andrew, Nicholas, Michael, and Joseph Bodnar and two sisters; Ann Drotar and Margaret Liszka.
Family and friends will be received in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Richford and Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne on Thursday Feb. 12, from 9 -11:30 A.M. at which time a blessing will be offered, followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial in SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church at 12 noon with Rev. John Cucarro as celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, West Mifflin.
